The characteristics of voltage control of substation are mostly discrete event dynamic behaviors, such as OLTC regulation, capacitor banks switching and load shedding. How can we ensure that the reasonable regulation for these discrete controllers and the effective coordination is a very important issue that need to research on. In this paper, a method based on Petri nets supervisory control theory is proposed to research the coordinated control problem to multiple discrete controllers system. In this paper, a hierarchical method is adopted for voltage control. The upper layer is voltage combination coordinated supervisor. The lower layer is decentralized controllers composed by the physics equipments and their local controllers, each controlling the corresponding voltage regulating equipment. The combination coordinated supervisor is realized by the means of the supervision based on place invariants (SBPI) theory, playing a major coordinating role. The results of simulation showed that the proposed method in the paper is feasible.
