On the basis of the tests made in VCRF in CANMET, conventional combustion and oxy-fuel combustion were simulated by CHEMKIN software. Comparing NOx rates of production (ROP), we found the main factors influencing NOx formation in the oxy-fuel combustion in the way of mechanism. The results indicated that: NH3 and HCN are main factors influencing NOx formation; O2 is also a main factor influencing NOx formation, we should reduce the amount of O2 as low as possible on the premise of normal combustion; Hydrocarbons is main destructive matters for NOx; CO made by CO2 destroy NOx.; The concentrations of NOx and CO2 are raised slightly with the increase of circulation ratio; Raising circulation ratio will increase cost and influence the boiler operaton, so we suggest that the circulation ratio should be 0.7.
