This paper firstly analyzes the stator and rotor radial vibration characters, which are the main mechanical fault characters of turbo-generator when respectively under an air-gap static eccentric fault, a dynamic eccentric fault and a composite eccentric fault. It also researches on the effect of the generator's internal power-angle on the stator and rotor vibration characters, and the eccentricity causes reflected by the unbalanced rotor magnetic pull directions. Then it analyzes the stator circulating current characters under eccentric faults, which are the main electrical fault characters. Finally, an eccentric fault diagnosis and monitoring method based on the intersectional mechanical-electrical fault characters is put forward. In this paper, the details of the theory deducing and the experiment verification are shown. The achievements are full of theory reference value and active meaning for eccentric fault diagnosis and monitoring, meanwhile, it also offers a new idea for the diagnosis of this kind of faults.
