In this paper, the power system security is assessed by using power system dynamic information which wide area measurement system provides. Chaotic time series theory is introduced to power system transient stability prediction. First, reconstruct the phase space of generator angle and electromagnetic power time series, establish a multi-step predictive model based on the weight one-rank local law, and predict generator power angle and electromagnetic power in the process of complex transient state. Then the stability is judged and the stability margin is calculated according to EEAC obtaining better prediction accuracy. Second, the state of power system before fault can be identified though the information which energy management system/wide area measurement provides. The paper establishes a failure probability model, using the Monte Carlo method assesses probabilistic transient security. Finally, examples are set up to verify the rationality and effectiveness of the proposed methods.
