Partial discharge (PD) is one of the important reasons causing power transformer insulation degradation and breakdown. It is meaningful to detect and diagnose partial discharge in power transformer. Based on multi-conductor transmission lines(MTLs) theory, a new model of partial discharge pulse propagating in single phase two winding transformer is established,solved in frequency domain, and verified the correctness of the model .Based on the model,propagation characteristics of partial discharge in single phase two winding transformer is studied,which provide evidence for the analysis on electrical locating of partial discharge in single phase two winding transformers. We put forward a electrical locating method which is based on the BP neural network to locate the location of partial discharge in single phase two winding transformer,and verified through experiment.
