Characteristic Plants Selection And Arrangement For Shanghai EXPO

2010 Expo Shanghai exhibition is the platform for countries to show their cultures and customs. The characteristics plant has a strong regional character and rich cultural connotations,which are important elements for self-built museum to create exotic and unique national characteristics reflected in the in plants.Based on the background of the 2010 Shanghai world expo,suitable plants are chosen for different countries according to the regional climate condition,customs and culture characteristic.Considering climate conditions in Shanghai,this paper selects South Korea,Canada,Spain and Australia 4 self-built museums represented as the research objects.By applying the grey correlation method and consulting experts opinions,characteristic plants evaluation index system was established. The selection of the characteristics plants accords to the evaluation results configuration choice.The results were as follows:1.surveied 27 Central parks in downtown,12 residential or campus greenbelts,6 streets greenbelts and 5 suburban nursery bases,choose 203 species plants with good views in Shanghai during May to Oct as evaluation objects,including 59 kinds of trees,49 kinds of shrubs,88 kinds of herbs, kinds of 88,7 kinds of liana,which conclude 52 kinds of Spain characteristic plants,31 kinds of Australia characteristic plants,60 kinds of Canada characteristic plants,50 kinds of Korea characteristic plants.2.Under the principles of culture,adaptability,ornamentals and economy,10 indexes including heat resistance,cultural feature,maintennance frequency are selected as basis for evaluation, using gray-correlation method to evaluate the characteristics plant.Results:â… class emphatically recommended 48 species;â…¡class 81 species were suitable for application;â…¢class 73 kinds plants were not recommended.According to the evaluation results,recommend 33 kinds of trees,26 kinds of shrubs,53 kinds of herbs,4 kinds of liana,and 14 kinds of indoor ornamental plants.3.According to the different display purposes,toke 116 kinds of recommend characteristic plant for example,demonstrated cultural plant community,typical regional plant community, environmental plant community and ornamental plant community.4.Numbers of container seedlings are being used in Expo,the seedling preparing is very important, including demanding analysis,maintenance skills of trees,shrubs,annual flowers,perennial flowers,etc. 5.Established two characteristics plant demonstration bases of Australia and Spain in Shanghai botanical garden to observe the landscape effect of actual recommend plant community during May to October.According to the characteristics and different growth performance,discuss the management,maintenance and technical measures of optional several key techniques.The invitation of this paper was to combine the culture,adaptability,ornamental and economy factors into a comprehensive evaluation system,expressing applicable multiple themes of characteristic plants with quantitative analysis methods.
