Electricity is one of the most important energy sources, and the quality of electricity is nearly correlative with our lives. With the development of oil drilling industry and power electron technology, the diversified equipment of power electron and other no-linear charges greatly increase, harmonics contamination of Movable Power Station increases severity, and badly affect the quality of electricity and the safe run of Movable Power Station. Movable Power stationis as Power source is the important part in the oil drilling industry. To insure the safe run of Movable Power stationis, and limit the harm of harmonics into a safe range,the harmonics of Movable Power stationis must be mearsured then according to its result to take necessary protection action to control its harm. Harmonics detection is the basis of harmonics problem, and is also the foundation to deal with the harm of harmonics.The harmonics detection methods based on wavelet transform are discussed in this paper.The harmonics detection methods based on wavelettransform are discussed in this paper. The main contents are as follows:Harmonics problems and Harmonics sources of the Movable Power Station are researched. Harmonics detection methods based on Fourier transform, instantaneous reactivepower theory, artificial neural network and wavelet transform are shortly introduced and discussed, and the advantages and the disadvantages of the whole bag of tricks using in the Movable Power Station are compared. The main productions of the whole bag of tricks are listed.The basic principium of wavelet transform based on MALLAT Arithmetic and the way to process harmonics detection in the Movable Power Station by wavelet transform are introduced and discussed detailedly. The simulation system is founded by Matlab6.5, and the harmonics detection based on wavelet transform is simulated. The harmonics in the field data form the drilling crew is detected by the simulation system, and the corresponding simulated waveforms are given.According to the simulated and experimental results, the wavelet transform is validated to measure the harmonics in the Movable Power Station. Also, there suits indicate that the harmonics detection based on wavelet transformthe can be used in the Movable Power Station and provides a foundation for widely used from now on.
