Launched guided munitions have the prominent features of long range, directivity, and precision strikes, so, it is obvious to transform general munitions into the guided aerial munitions. Gas generator is used to provide energy for the guided munitions and in essence, it is one kind of solid rocket motors. As one of important gas generator components, auxiliary gas generators provide energy for control systems of gas generator with the quick start of turbine generator done by the high pressure gas. Conventional air munitions can be converted into guided munitions from the general munitions by means of adding the guided bomb chambers and the guided change of wing units converted. At present, there is a large quantity of and many models of national conventional air ammunitions, and therefore in order to convert national conventional air bomb into a guided aerial bombs, the study on auxiliary gas generator of have important military significance.In this paper, based on the working principle of solid rocket motor, analysis the flow law under the certain condition of gas in the combustion chamber, make the selection of solid propellant and performance analysis, set up the mathematical of model auxiliary gas generator performance parameters ,and on this basis, carry out the research on the changing rules of the combustion chamber gas pressure, flow and the burning rate of pressure gas in the combustion chamber, set up the function of grain pressure vs. burning time, grain flow vs. burning time.In this paper, in accordance with the work mechanism of solid rocket motor and the mathematical model of performance parameters, design such core components of auxiliary gas generator as gas generator cylinder, head, grain, block board and so on, analysis and verify the security and reliability of shell structure against high pressure and variable flow gas in the combustion chamber at high temperature, low environmental temperature to ensure the work of auxiliary gas generator.Based on a certain type of the trial production of auxiliary gas generator, set up the ground firing testing of gas pressure, average pressure and working time parameters and based on the gas test curve of gas pressure vs. time, gas flow vs. time, analysis and verify the structural design of the auxiliary gas generator. The results proved the rationality and safety of the structural design and give a strong reference and a basis for restructuring of conventional aerial bomb.
