In recent years, the world's earthquakes happen frequently and endanger people's lives and property seriously. The 5.12 Wenchuan earthquake Which has happened just now damaged a large number of bridges as a life-line engineering. It brings numbers of difficulties for rescue and so much the victims. the destruction of the bridge, as one of lifeline engineering , will increase the extent of secondary disasters, leading to more serious life and property and economic losses. Therefore, it is necessary to grasp and understand the seismic response of the bridges, set up a reasonable system and take effective anti-seismic measures. This paper, basing on the basic theory of a brief structural dynamic characteristics and seismic response analysis, carries out the analysis of the self-vibration characteristics , stability ,the spectrum and time-history of earthquake response. The Main research contents include: First, setting up a perfect calculation model of the bridge;Second, carrying out the analysis of the self-vibration characteristics and stability and considering the pile - soil interaction on the effects of self-vibration characteristics of the bridge; Third, considering the spectrum input of the the longitudinal and cross-bridge and carring out the spectrum analysis of seismic response of the bridge. The fourth, considering the longitudinal-bridge and vertical ground motion input and cross-bridge and vertical ground motion input and carrying out the time-history analysis and considering the traveling wave effects.
