As a renewable clean energy, wind energy gets more and more attention and development all over the world. This project, based on function theory, is an attempt about the application of design method in machinery products design to provide high-value products, in which the designed product is the components of large-scale wind energy turbine.The first main content of the thesis is about the theory and the trait of the function design method which is the theoretic basis of this research papers. And in this part, the basic design process is set in advance. Then, a preliminary study of large-scale wind energy turbine transmission system is in progress, from some areas such as the function, type, structure and design requirements. The part of function analysis, in which the function system diagram is produced, is about function definition and function arrangement of the designed products. On this basis, the principle scheme is determined; the function system is transformed to structure system; and the form of the product is finished. At last, through the digital modeling and virtual simulation, the rationality of the design result and the feasibility of the design method are both verified.
