With the expansion of the high-speed train market, the demand of our country greatly stimulates the development of high-speed train's controlling mode. With the development of the power electronic technology, more and more modes are used in the high-speed train. CRH5 is the kind of high-speed train which is produced by the French Company Alstom and our country together. The traction converter control mode of CRH5 needs to be study.In this thesis, on the basis of the traction converter system of CRH5 's request, the possible structure and working principle of pulse rectifier are analyzed in the first. Then a minute study on the possible Control Strategies is given. What's the impotent is the rectifier's controlling mode, the inverter's controlling mode and main circle parameter preferences. In rectifier circuit, the control strategy is Current Control with Fixed Switching Frequency. In inverter circle, the control strategy is PLU standard calculate strategy, the main characteristic is different working area or different working state has different controlling mode. Make the electromotor working in reason. In this thesis, mainly introduce the controlling mode with SVPWM technique and constant V/f principle which is used in rotate speed rising state. This thesis remain introduce the super system in the traction converter system. Introduce the hardware and software.With the parameter design in the rectifier circle and the inverter circle, and furthermore, make the simulation model for an application example is designed in Matlab/Simulink environment, test the system of the traction converter mode. The simulation results show that the rectifier system that uses Current Control with Fixed Switching Frequency mode has some merits: achieve close to unity power factor,the THD less than 3%,the transient current control strategy offers good control effects and reliability. The inverter system that uses the controlling mode with SVPWM technique and constant V/f principle makes rotate speed raising stably, the current wave being sine wave. And achieve close to unity power factor,the THD less than 3%. The simulation result prove that the Control Strategies can meet the CRH5 train's working request.
