The Chinese history is glorious,there is 7000 years about the history of ancient Chinese architecture according to the real object.In the long historic course,ancient Chinese architecture has formed the independent bright characteristic gradually.However,there are some difficulties and many limitable conditions in the course of the research on scientific research of ancient chinese architecture,as a result of the particularity material and complexity structure,then cannot carry on the experiment to its structure itself,which makes that datum of scientific research of ancient architecture be less.According to the measured geometric and the structural features,the mechanical model and properties for the joints and all structure have been obtained,by applying the elements with variable rigid joints with mortise and tenon of beam-column system to the real wooden structure,and different rigid conditions of the virture element with semi-rigidity.Its stiffness value can be obtained by model tests.Then the inherent property of Dongyue Temple structure and the displacement response under the action of different seismic waves are obtained by using finite element method.Based on the results,the scientific foundation for structure of the Hall of Dongyue Temple'safety and reliability can be provided.The analysis mentioned above could also be applied on other ancient wooden structures.The focus of the paper are as follows:1.The paper make the brief introduction on the historical development of ancient Chinese architecture,and the earthquake resistance function and the mechanism of various components have carried on the detailed discussion according to the correlation papers,then make the brief outline to historical development and the present situation of Xi'an Dongyue Temple.2.The 3D finite element analysis model of Xi'an Dongyue Temple is established by ANSYS,according to the measured geometric of Xi'an Dongyue Temple.The beam and column are simulated beam44 unit,the semi-rigid characteristic of tenon and mortise and toukong are simulated six Combin14 units.3.The model analysis is carried out,and comparing with vibrational frequencies and modes of related records,to get the frequency and vibration cycle,as well as the top ten order vibration mode.4.To analysis the seismic behavior of the structure loading different seismic waves, through time-history analysis of the structure,and get displacement-time curves and acceleration-time curves of the different levels model,then to discuss and explore the mechanism of the earthquake of structure model.5.Through the time-history analysis of the finite element structure model,in accordance with the Seismic mechanism of the ancient wooden structure and vibration characteristics of structure different levels,comparing with the results of the relevant literature,to give isolation factor.The concludes can be consider as the protection maintenance and reinforcement theoretical basis and technical reference of the hall of Dongyue temple.
