The study of the structural dynamic of Chinese historic timber buildings(CHTB) has a great significance for earthquake and development of CHTB heritage.The palace timber structure was selected as a research object.The unique structural form and nodes characteristics,dynamic mechanism have been studied by theoretical analysis,model tests and numerical simulation.The typical mortise-tenon joints in historic timber buildings were analyzed in mechanics.The low cyclic reversed loading tests were carried out.The semi-rigid characteristic of the joggle joint and the rules of stiffness degradation were obtai2 The moment-rotation angle hysteretic curves,skeleton curves,coefficient of viscous damping were tested.The rigidity of the formula and the equivalent viscous damping of mortise-tenon joint was proposed.Under the research of structure form and mechanics characteristic,timber structure has a symmetrical form.The semi-rigid connection of mortise-tenon joint dynamic model with rotational spring and dashpot was proposed by test damage forms and test Data analysis.Use this model,Stiffness properties and dashpot properties and dynamic properties was developed by data and numerical simulation.The complex dynamic stiffness matrix for the beam with semi-rigid connection and linear viscous dampers at its ends was obtained.Comparing the dynamic calculation results and test date,we can know better about properties of timber buildings' seismic and stability.
