The propeller is a key component of the power plant,having high working speed and complex surfaces.The traditional processing methods of the propeller are rough casting,general roughing milling,and then grinding manually.Before blank casting,it should first make the sand mold.There are many data involved in sand mold manufacturing process.The traditional data solution process for sand mold manufacturing is time-consuming and laborious,with poor accuracy and poor repeatability.Therefore,it is necessary to establish a rapid and accurate parameters solution system for the propeller casting process.In this paper,the three-dimensional software—UG NX is employed as the development platform,Visual C++ is used as the development tools for embedded modules,the SQL server is used as the database,and the UG/OPEN GRIP is used as a three-dimensional parametric modeling tool for the propeller to establish the casting process auxiliary system of the propeller.Firstly,this paper studies the related technologies of the secondary development of UG NX,and then by using Visual C++, and through the secondary development of UG NX through the UG OPEN API interface,establishes the propeller casting process control system to realize the functions of adding,storing,modifying,deleting and querying of technical data. Secondly,this paper analyzes the structural characteristics of the propeller,using UG/ OPEN GRIP for propeller parametric modeling.In the modeling process,the fillet and anti-singing treatment are used to the edge of the propeller blades to establish the precise model of the propeller.Thirdly,this paper adds parameters such as reduced scale,pitch subsidies,machining allowance etc.to establish the propeller casting model, and then according to the requirements of pitch gauge coordinate modeling,establishes the parameters collecting system for the sand mold manufacturing to realize the rapid collection of sand mold manufacturing parameters and to create casting process card. Finally,as for the characteristics of the structure and surface of large propellers,this paper carries out research on the process planning of the propeller and NC machining technology,and selects UG NX 6.0 for NC machining programming to produce non-interference five-axis NC Machining path.The realization of the system greatly reduces the workload of sand mold designers, improving the efficiency and accuracy of sand mold design,and provides an accurate model for NC machining.Through this research on five-axis NC machining of propeller, this paper establishes a relatively perfect NC machining tool path planning method for large propellers.
