The fast development of automobile industry makes a great need for car components,also brings the filter industry with important opportunity and challenge.At the present time,the competition of filter industry at home is keen.Although the national industry holds an relatively obvious advantage in after sale services,it is relatively slight in the ability of research and innovation and short of obvious advantage in competition of quality improving and technology studying.It's very urgent to research the performance of filter products for providing specific theoretical direction to the designers and reducing the blindness in the design.This thesis intends to make a research on the performance of air cleaner products,and mainly discusses the correlativity of the pressure drop across the air cleaner products with its influential factors,in order to provide correlative theoretical direction to the designers.This thesis uses theoretical approach,combining experiment method,to make an in-depth study on the pressure drop of filter-paper,clean and clogging pleated air cleaner products.By comparing the calculation results of different classical formulas for pressure drop of fibrous filtration medium with the experimental results,it finds the calculation results are generally higher than the experimental results.It's necessary to make the modification about the ununiformity of fiber distribution and the modified results could be used for the prediction of pressure drop across fibrous filtration medium.Based on the assumption of the velocity function,the pressure is solved from the Navier-Stokes equation.With the averaged pressure across the local gap width,a model for the overall pressure drop across clean pleated air cleaner is developed.The correlativity of pressure drop across clean pleated air cleaner with the geometry parameter is also discussed.Based on the mechanism of nonstationary filtration,combining experimental results,the study about pressure drop during pleated air cleaner clogging is carried out and the semi-empirical formula is raised for the prediction of pressure drop.The conclusion of this thesis,especially the method for the calculation of the pressure drop across clean pleated air cleaner can offer available instruction to the designers to enhance the performance of products.The semi-empirical formula for the pressure drop during the nonstationary filtration of pleated air cleaner could be used for the prediction of useful time about the pleated air cleaner.
