The detection technique for partial discharge based on SF6's decomposition gases in GIS is a focus research subject recently,the relationship between partial discharge and SF6's decomposition gases in GIS is one of the import research subjects.A GIS PD measuring system was established in our lab.This paper has researched the relationship between the three typical patterns of PD in GIS(the patterns include the protrusion on the high voltage conductor,high voltage conductor's bad contacts and metal particles on the insulation spacers in the GIS) and the SF6's decomposition gases; This paper has researched the relationship between the severity grade of partial discharge and the SF6's decomposition gases;This paper has also researched the relationship between the SF6's pressure and the SF6's decomposition gases;The test results show that:The characteristic gas of partial discharge in GIS is SOF2+SO2and HF;The concentrations of SOF2+SO2 and HF have strong relationship with the severity grade of partial discharge;The pressure of SF6 has impact on the concentration of SOF2+SO2 and HF,the higher of the pressure,the lower of the concentrations of SOF2+SO2 and HF.
