The installed capacity of Chinese hydro power reached 170,000MW in 2008, among which,large numbers of hydro power generating units have entered into updating and transforming period.In this paper,technology of ventilation and plied yarn transposition in capacity-increasing transformation of vertical large-scale and stator bar hydropower generating unit is focused.In the restriction of previous objective condition,some research including electromagnetic calculation as well as parameter selection,stator structure,plied yarn transposition and ventilation are done.The key points are how to confirm the way and angle of plied yarn transposition.After study of theory and calculation,the conclusion,which incomplete transformation is proposed when winding bar is inside groove,can be got.When the angle of transformation is 320°,the way of non transformation is selected at the end of hydro power generating unit.After the trial of manufacturing temperature measuring winding bar with electric,the temperature difference of winding bar drops largely,the temperature increase suits national standard wonderfully on condition that the capacity-increase of hydro power generating unit is 16.7%.These results can get the aim of improving carrying capability by decreasing operating temperature of winding bar.
