Taizhou located in the central coastal region of Zhejiang. There wide distributing deep and thick clay ground. Construction projects are unceasing in urban after county upgraded to city since 1994, Most of the construction inevitable build on soft soil. As the specificity of soft soil and also due to reasons of investigation, design or construction, it always leads to engineering quality accident. Combining with physical experience and massive project example, the paper analyzes the geological features and foundation selection of Taizhou urban areas. These work is done:First the paper analyzes engineering geology condition and hydrogeological conditions in Taizhou urban district through investigation and study, and zonal render geologic profile map. The paper provides reasonably basis for the foundation pattern selection by quality synthetic evaluating engineering geology condition in Taizhou.Then combining with physical experience, the paper separately introduces application of cement deep mixing composite foundation, cat-in-place pile with vibration, prestressed pile, slurry bored pile in building engineering in Taizhou.By analyzing common foundation forms, contrast their advantage and disadvantage, study the common problems of quality and solution method, It could find a reasonable foundation form for every construction engineering of Taizhou urban in order to raise bearing capacity, sheer resistance, reduce settling amount and differential settlement. It would have certain significance for building security and stability.
