Gasoline engines which are used as general dynamical machines in agricultural mechanism,gardening mechanism,generators as well as other occasions are equipped with speed governor to insure a steady rev, as there is a change of load or exterior conditions. With the diversifications in kinds and purposes of the gas engines, the requests of high precision and standard should be improved. However, there are some disadvantages in the mechanical speed governor which are usually used in the gasoline engine, such as low adjustment precision and long stabilization time. The research aimed at high performance and low cost of the electronic speed governor on the gasoline engines is needed so as to adapt at the requests which economical,reliability and automatizaiton level on the dynamical devices should be improved increasingly through manufacture.In the thesis, a PID controller is applied to the electronic speed governor of a general gasoline engine. Through a orthogonality experiment design method, PID parameters are researched and set. The PID controller program is developed. The stable speed and stable speed governor rate can be programmable, which is general and expansible. For different types of gasoline engines, gasoline engines can be controlled through rotate speed by the electronically. It is proven that the right controls parameter will be obtained through experiments.Considerable tests on ZONGSHEN type YH465Q gasoline engines, Results show that when the rotate speed reaches 3000r/min, the electronic speed governor can achieve 1.5% stable governing ratio and 5% instantaneous adjustment ratio, better than requests in national standard. The entire electronic speed governor will have a popular applied value because of its simpler structure and lower cost.
