Study On The Traffic Safety Of The Reconstruction And Extension Of Expressway

The expressway was paid attention by the countries all over the world with such characteristics as it's fast, safe, comfortable and economic. With the fast development of social economy, the growth rate of expressway traffic volume is nearly two numbers. However, the expressway that our country builds in initial stage is four lanes which can't meet demands of modern traffic, and the destruction has appeared in the course of running in various degrees, so the reconstruction and extension of expressway is urgently.The expressway is often in the area where transportation arterial highways and traffic skeletons stays, so, the reconstruction and extension project can only be taken while the express is open to the traffic. Open to the traffic and construction was interfered each other, which bring the great potential safety hazard to the reconstruction and extension of expressway. Study on the traffic safety when the expressway is reconstructed and expanded to reduce the mutual interference between constructing and open to the traffic, is the key to ensure the reconstruction and extension of expressway carrying on smoothly.This paper investigated, analyzed and counted the traffic current situations (volume of traffic , driving speed , traffic styles , origin cause of formation of traffic accident ,etc. ) based on the concept and method of the reconstruction and extension of expressway which will offer the foundation for the traffic safety study about the reconstructing and expanding of expressway. Secondly, on the basis of the analysis of people , car and traffic flow characteristic in the expanding operation area, the author studied the traffic volume, traffic safety, traffic speed, traffic make up and the relationship between traffic make up and traffic safety, and proposed the corresponding countermeasure of the reconstruction and extension project. In addition, the author analyzed the traffic safety at different construction way and different stage of construction that will offer the basis for establishment of the traffic safety devices.The traffic safety devices are the important guarantee of the traffic safety while the expressway is reconstructing and expanding. Based on the analysis of driver recognizing model in the area of the reconstruction and extension of expressway, this paper studied the establishment of traffic sign in each sector of reconstruction and extension of expressway and proposed the security measures in the difficult section and under unusual terms. Additionally, the paper studied the emergency processing and rescuing when the traffic accident happens in the construction sector.Finally the author took the Tong-Bao expressway as an example, and then proposed the speed limit scheme while constructing, and discussed the establishment of the traffic safety devices while reconstructing and expanding in Tong-Bao expressway to offer reference for the reconstruction and extension of Tong-Bao expressway.
