Facing the multi-interdisciplinary and diversified development trend of modern urban planning design, planners will suffer from many collisions of different information and challenges of different disciplines on all aspects. At the same time because of the urban planning design of the increasingly high demands, and the expansion of the scope of urban planning design, the information relayed cover the city's past, present and future, these information cover a wide range, the amount of information, the traditional manual tasks and analytical tools are far from satisfying the requirements of urban planning design. How rationally use a amount of different information through computer analysis and GIS technology portfolio to make them easy to operate and understand how to contrapose the corresponding modular application of the planning design processes has become a new challenge for urban planning design. Based on the discussion of the GIS Geoprocessing in dealing with urban planning design,this document discusses from the technical theory and the theory of practice to provide a modular, systematic thinking for urban planning design methods.Among the main contents include the following three parts: Firstly it explains the concept and the basic theory about GIS technology, displaying the status of GIS in urban planning design and the advantages and problems .Secondly, this article puts forward a new way by using space technology to solve the difficult areas of Geoprocessing model in the urban planning design. Thirdly through detailed examples to discuss the application of Geoprocessing modeling in public facilities sitting, pointing out that the advantages of the technology and its the specific impact and function for the urban planning design.Construction of urban planning design in the Geoprocessing model will enable GIS develop towards standardization, industrialization, and modularization in the field of urban planning design, improving the efficiency and standardization from the technical aspect to provide a stronger technical support for the design and evaluation & decision-making of urban planning design. The innovation lies in this article: the growing maturity of the suitability of the site model applied to urban planning design process, designed Geoprocessing methods apply to the siting of public facilities, use ArcGIS ModelBuilder deal with the establishment of the Geoprocessing model in their realization.
