The high speed of the supercavity vehicles is obtained by use of the rocket engine, but the flow flied near the tail jet flow outlet may be disturbed. So far, no documentation of its has been public reported.In this paper, the basic theory of supercavitation and the relative research on the subjects is introduced. The numerical investigation of the nature and ventilated cavitation and tail jet flow field of a two-dimensional axisymmetric underwater vehicle model are performed by using FLUENT. The Cavitation model is used to simulate the nature cavitation filed and the influence of the tail jet flow. The VOF model is used to simulate the ventilated cavitation filed and the influence of the tail jet flow. The results are well in agreement with that of the references. The conclusion drawn in this paper provides reference for further studying of designing hydrodynamic configuration of supercabitaty vehicle.
