Engine is the heart of an aircraft. The guarantee of its safety and the decrease of its operation cost will resolve airline facing the conflicts between development and safety, also between safeties and benefits. In the paper, the technologies and methods of health management system for aeroengine and engine fleet have been researched based on the application of condition. The health management is the technology integrated engine monitoring, maintenance decision-making and engine removal ranking into a framework. The health management has the function for guarantying safety and decreasing the maintenance cost for aeroengine. The primary work of the paper includes:(1) The design and plan of civil engine health management system has been studied. The structure, constitutes, functions and key technologies of civil engine health management has been researched in detail, which laid a strong foundation for a deeper research in the future.(2) The method of civil aviation engine health management that based on the single parameter has been studied, such as gas path performance parameter, vibration parameter and oil parameter. Furthermore, the method of engine fleet ranking by the performance parameter has been discussed, which making engine operated more efficiently.(3) The method of civil aviation engine health management that based on the multi parameters has been studied. The advantages and difficulties of multi-parameters for civil aviation health management have been analyzed. Using uncertain interval multi-attribute decision methods, the multi-parameters civil aviation engine performance and health management have been studied. Engineering application shows the validity.(4) The predication and control of the civil engine life on wing has been studied by using deterioration based on the EGT (Exhausted Gas Temperature) and Proportion Intensity Model. Some other compulsory limits also have been discussed. The study provided a quantificational engine removal decision-making.Used by the above technologies and methods,"Civil Aviation Engine Health Management System"has been developed. Civil Aviation Engine Health management System has been applied successfully in Shanghai airline.
