Research On AC Generator Control Unit Of Aeroplane

45kVA AC generator control unit (AC GCU) is an important equipment of a certain helicopter's AC electrical power system. In this paper, the AC GCU ,including control circuits and automatic voltage regulator (AVR) ,is studied and designed .The control circuit is based on 80C196KB .It's performance guideline was given and the design of software and hardware was explained particularly. The methods of control circuit's experiment and testing is summarized . The design of the control circuit has realized the request of modularization, so it is beneficial to expand the system.Based on the research on AVR's circuit theory, this paper proposed a new voltage detection method instead of the traditional one. Moreover, AVR was designed and experimentally verificated at 60kVA AC generator-JF60B .The methods of AVR's experiment and testing is introdued in detail .By integrating the method of theoretical analysis, simulation and experiment, the paper has succeeded in establishing the mathematical model of the whole voltage regulation system around the action spot. Two mathematical models including model of voltage closed-loop, model of voltage and exciting current closed-loops are established. Integrated simulation on the models proves that the designed system is steady and the exciting current closed-loop has great influence on the dynamic performance of system. Results of the simulation agree with theoretical analysis exactly. The mathematical models can make comparatively important foundation for the establishing of 45kVA automatic voltage regulation's model.The work of this paper serves as the reference for the design of 45kVA AC generator control unit. It also helps to improve the performance of the control circuit and the voltage regulator.
