Recent years, with the rapid development of domestic economy, the civil engineering keeps fast developing, and the construction scale expands day by day. It requires a higher request of design of the ground foundation project not only of building, bridge and tube, but also of haven and airport. Many different ways exist to deal with the composite foundation in engineering fields. CM composite foundation in three-dimension is based on the C-Pile controlling settlement , M-Pile improving bearing capacity and the improving the capacity of the earth around the piles of the ideological, in engineering practice has been widely used and achieved a good social and economic benefits. However, as far as the CM composite foundation in three-dimension basic working principle and practical understanding of the character was not thorough enough,so far few theories regard the settlement and capacity consideration,has not yet formed a unified better design methods and mature design theory. The paper takes a research on the CM composite foundation in three-dimension, based on field trail data which are collected from the experimentation and the observation of the built building.Firstly, the basic theories and the development of composite foundation are summarized in this Paper,and the mechanism and the calculating theory for CM composite foundation in three-dimension are introduced and analyzed. Secondly, it takes a research on the settlement and the stress ratio of pile-soil, which was modeled using the universal finite element analysis software (ANSYS). Through changing the coefficient, such as the length and the compressive modulus of the C-pile, M-pile and the earth, mast the influence on the settlement and stress ratio of pile-soil. Thirdly, take a calculation on the settlement on the CM composite foundation in three-dimension in the way of layered-summation method, and analyzed it in contrast with the result of the observation of the built building. Finally, it takes out a conclusion of the paper and the direction for further research on the CM composite foundation in three-dimension is pointed out.
