| The stability of power system is of great importance to the nation and society. Every fault in power system may cause great loss tour country and the people. In power system tour inspection of power equipment especially of the equipment in substations is of great importance in the operation of substations. At present there exist some problems in tour inspection. For example the inspector doesn't inspect according the arranged route, doesn't inspect on time or doesn't inspect as required. In order to overcome the problems mentioned above 2.4G technology based on non-standard protocol ANT is studied and the design of a tour-inspection system and patrol register hardware is given.First, this paper described the background under which tour inspection system is born and the development of tour-inspection technology at home and abroad and pointed out the problems existing in tour inspection system of substations nowadays. Second, this paper made a deep research in relevant technology, especially the 2.4G short-distance wireless communication technology and made a comparison with the relevant technologies and chose the best for substations. By the features of 2.4G THE structure of the system was designed. Then a research on .NET and database is given according to the need of the software development. At last the design of software was given through C#.NET and SQL sever 2000 according to the requirement of substations and the installation of information buttons was analyzed with electronic map through an example..The design scheme of this paper has the following features: has all the functions needed, practical, high reliability, intelligent. This design can be used in large-area tour inspection and small area inspection at the same time. The inspection register will be used outdoor and in environment where high voltage interference exists. So an anti-interference design is made in the hardware. The register will have a good performance in anti-interference.
