The first factor is safety, and the economic benefit is the second for the Water Conservancy and Hydroelectric Power Engineering. It's safety is very important for the national economy and people's livelihood. The city will be influenced badly and the mischance will come to the people who live at the lower reaches of the river if the engineering breaks down. Main powerhouse in hydroelectric power station is providing power generation and flood discharge. So the safety of it plays an especially significant role. The main powerhouse in Fengman Hydroelectric Power Station is located in the city of Jilin, Jilin province. The earthquake always breaks out in our country, as has kept running over 60 years, it is really necessary to do some research on it. So the dynamic response of the bent structure of the main powerhouse in Fengman Hydroelectric Power Station is analyzed in this paper.For some decades now, with the development of the nuclear power plants, huge dams, high-rise buildings, higher requirements to structural engineering and geotechnical is put forward. On the other hand, they do good to each other. Currently, papers about high-rises and dams can be found everywhere, but we can hardly found too many papers about the dynamic response of powerhouses. So, at the beginning of this paper, progress in dynamic characteristics of powerhouse both in this country and abroad are introduced. We did some investigations in Fengman Hydroelectric Power Station, and did experiments in structural laboratory, then modeled with the FEM software named ANSYS. Introducing the dynamic theory and FEM method. Analyze the dynamic characteristics of the powerhouse with the mode analysis result, and study on the natural vibration frequencies and the vibration modes. At last, compare some theories about seismic calculation with each other. Seismic characteristic of the structure was studied by the response spectrum analysis. To find out where the maximal stress and the maximal displacement are with these results. At the end of this paper, I check the strength of the bent structure and give my suggestions.
