Deterioration of reinforced concrete structures has become a serious problem currently; this situation is mainly due to corrosion of steel reinforcing bars embedded in concrete. This makes a number of reinforced concrete structures need to be strengthened, which cause vast economic losses. A long-term and effective solution to this problem is to build new structures reinforced by Fiber Reinforced Polymers bars (FRP).FRP is a modern composite material with characteristic of high tensile strength, light weight and good resistance to corrosion. So it's a perfect material for reinforced. The formulas of RC beam are not incompletely suitable for concrete beams reinforced with FRP bars, so the first thing is to study the flexural performance of concrete beam reinforced by FRP bars. The research method of the experimental researches and theoretical analysis are used together in this paper, namely, experiment is directed by theory and theory is modified subsequently by experimental results. The experimental researches and theory analysis on the concrete beam reinforced with FRP bars have been done with above method. In this paper, the mechanical property and service performance of concrete beam reinforced by FRP bars under the bending moment have been analyzes, the formula of cracking moment, ultimate moment, crack width, stiffness and deflection are deduced, and they are modified and supplemented by static bending experiment result of ten concrete beams reinforced with FRP bars.A simulation analysis about the concrete beam reinforced with FRP bars using finite element software–ANSYS has been done, the stress condition, load-displacment curve and cracked development of the concrete beam reinforced with FRP bars has been researched. And the analysis outcome has been comparied favorably with experimental result. At last, the experimental conclusion of this paper is mostly directed toward the FRP bars applied in this experiment, but it gives a new idea about FRP bars reinforced concrete beam, its research method and partial conclusion and suggestion can give some references for the future research.
