Rotating Accelerometer Gravity Gradiometer

As we know, the measurement of gravity is so important and significant in the areas of national defence,exploration,space technique,military application and environment ,etc. Because the change of gravity among two points on the earth is so tiny, the high precision measurement of gravity is a very difficult and challenged work.Rotating accelerometer gravity gradiometer is a full-tensor gravity gradiometer, which works in the normal temperature and is particularly applicable to the areas of exploration,space and navigation. The Bell Company of America started the research of rotating accelerometer gravity gradiometer in the 1970s, and has a 5 to 10E precision now, which is applied to many related areas.This thesis firstly introduces the background and significance of this area, and then lists the key gravity gradiometers studied in world. And next detailedly calculate and analyze the principle of rotating accelerometer gravity gradiometer, on the base of which, we also discuss the matching problems among accelerometers and the setting errors of accelerometers. At last we build some experiment to confirm the theory and some other researches, and give some advices to the next step of research.
