Railway car is used as railway machinery shop to drive in the railway station and transport goods on the railroad.Power of railway car is much lower than the traction locomotive, normally under 1000kW, and its transmission system is similar to the automobile, one is mechanical transmission, the other is hydraulic transmission; its running gear is wheel-rail type; its wheel pair is made of an axle with two wheels cold pressed at each end, and in the middle there is a gear box with the function of transferring the power from the power distribution box to the wheel pair; its gear change, direction change and clutch are similar to the automobile, but its running and brake is the same to the railway vehicle.290HP railway car is commonly seen as railway machinery shop, it has a better market foreground, but the configuration of the traditional hydraulic direction change transmission box is complex and its cost is little high, so it cannot satisfy the customer. This design, based on mechanical transmission box technology used on automobile, develops mechanical direction change power distribution box, and with high performance and price rate, it realizes the transmission on the railway car.Focus on the problems such as big noise, big vibration and shaft break existing in the power distribution boxes on the present use Qinling railway car, this article studies the shaft gear intensity of the original power distribution box, analyzes the cause of the noise, finds out the mechanism of the problem happening, and it settles the design, increases the reliability of the power distribution box and optimizes its performance.This design solves the problems as followings, the use of differential velocity controller on the power distribution box; the sealing problem caused by forced lubrication; intensity longevity of shaft gear and bearing, etc.
