Screw compressor has been widely used in aerodynamic, industrial refrigeration, central air-conditioning and technological process. A pair of meshing rotors is the most key part of twin-screw compressor; its performance is determined by the rotor profile. Compared to the world advanced level, the research of rotor profile in our country has a long way to go. Therefore the research on the measurement technology of rotor profile and model reconstruction of rotor has great theoretical and practical significance.This paper mainly focuses on the researches and discussions of the screw rotor mathematical model, measurement technology, workpiece coordinate system setting-up, digital measurement and model reconstruction. At fist, this paper studies the mathematical model of screw rotor and proposes the measurement method for screw rotor whose CAD model is known. It studies the presented model of measurement path optimization and improves the measurement efficiency. Secondly, it studies the location mode of rotor measurement and the main factor of location error, and gives the definite solutions. It built the workpiece coordinate system which based on error compensation technology, studies on the planning of measurement trace and the number of collected points, and improves the efficiency of the workpiece coordinate system setting-up. Thirdly, it studies the digital measurement of screw rotor which CAD model is unknown by using laser scanner and coordinate measuring machine (CMM). It studies the data pre-processing and data alignment technology. Analyzes theoretical error of CMM auto compensation and proposes the iterative measurement. It compiles the profile data transformation program by using computer technology, and then realizes top-quality digital measurement of screw rotor. Lastly, according to research of the model reconstruction technology, proposes subsequent processing method of measurement data, and presents the evaluation method of rotor profile fitting error, also sets up error model for reconstruction mode, and then studies reconstruction surface interrogation. At the base of above key technologies, it realizes the model reconstruction of screw rotor.This research will provide the effective measurement technology and reference data for screw compressor manufacturing enterprises, it realizes the reverse measurement to advanced rotor profile, which will shorten the screw rotor development cycle.
