| There are more than 80,000 reservoirs in China, with the total capacity reaching 600 billion cubic meters.The reservoirs have made significant contributions in flood controling, power generation, water supply, irrigation, etc.However, lots of reservoirs have very poor conditions, more than 40 percent of them are in risk, which make a discount off the great benefit and further development of the economy, even more, the risky reservoirs threaten the lives of the local people. Studies show that there are two reasons for this situation,the diseases of embankments and mismanagement. Therefore, it is of great significance that studying of these diseases and improve management in reservoirs, whether already in existence or not.In this paper, taking Beidagang reservoirs as a backing, probe into the reason of these diseases(settlement and cracks, especially) by numerical method. Taking consolidation into account, simulate the course of construction of the embankments, and draw some conclusions for the reasons of diseases of Beidagang reservoir and reservoirs in plain area in general, which make some references to both reinforcement of the risky reservoirs and further building of reservoirs in the future. At the same time, establish the three-dimensional landform and information-based model of Beidagang reservoir, according to different kinds of diseases, by means of geography information system. Then make the hypothetical model three-dimensional, the information of the diseases accessible, and at last, base the management in reservoirs on information. |
