The huge-deep reservoir usually has water temperature delamination phenomenon. Low-temperature water discharged from hydropower station will change water temperature environment of downstream channel and have serial disadvantageous influences on the ecological environment and industrial and agricultural production. With the importance to environmental protection, the Multi-Level Intake Structure was used to lighten the negative infection by many huge hydropower stations. So, accurately simulating and predicting reservoir temperature delamination laws and the release water temperature are important to the Multi-Level Intake Structure which could control the temperature of the discharge water and protect the environment.In this paper, intake's flow field and temperature field of the Multi-Level Intake Structure of Nuozhadu hydropower station are simulated using 3D k-εmodels, the results are as follows:(1) The temperature of discharge water is different among every schemes of Nuozhadu hydropower station. Stratify watering may try to enhance the temperature of discharge flow according to demands to satisfy the demand of environment and industrial and agricultural production.(2) The highness of stop log gate has relation with temperature of releasing water, and it puts up characteristics of layered intake. When the hydropower station is running, the range of intake is from 20m upwords down to 4m of stop log gate tip. The main range is 15m upwords down to the stop log gate tip. When no stop log gate, it only takes out bottom water.(3) A water temperature model was developed based on Navier-Stokes equations for 3D incompressible flows.In the momentum equation, the action of buoyancy was taken into account. the model is suitable for numerical simulation of complex flow patterns and flows with layered temperature.(4)The simulating results had an accuracy through verification of model experiment. It can predict water-releasing temperature and guide operation scheme.
