Roller Compacted rubcrete (RCR) is a new type of rubberized concret, which isfabricated by adding waste tire rubber particles in the Roller Compacted Concrete(RCC), the main purpose is to improve the toughness and deformation behaviors ofthe concrete. The reaserch work on rubberized concrete conductied in the past mostlyfocused on the ordinaryrubcrete, no literatures was found on the RCR.The incorporation of rubber granule in ordinary concrete may not only improveproject characteristics such as anti-cracking behavior, deformation performance, butalso help to resolve matters such as present increasing environment pollution by wasterubber, which has great significance of environment protection. Otherwise, because ofthe small deadweight of rubber granule, it is easy to float on the surface during thevibration of concrete; this makes the rubber granule asymmetric on the thicknees waywhich affects the mixture function of the rubber granule. This may not be happen inRCR.Presently the study of RCR is still at initial stage. And the paper of RCR is stillnot found now. According to the developed compressive strength formula, this papercalculates the different water-cement ratio bases on the different mixed rubberquantity by keeping the compressive strengths of all specimens at the same level of35MPa. Then replace the sand with rubber particles by the equal volume. Study thedeformation behavior of RCR mixed with different quantityof rubber particles. The main contents of this dissertation include:⑴The flexural deformation performance of RCR: The flexural strength increasedand the flexural elastic modulus of RCR decreased with the increase of rubber contentwhile their compressive strengths were kept at the same level. But the flexuralultimate tensile elongation has no obvious trend with the increase of rubber content. And it has a close relation with the compressive strength of RCR;⑵The compressive deformation behavior of RCR: the compressive elasticmodulus of RCR decrease with the increase of rubber content while their compressivestrengths were kept at the same level. However, the affection of the rubber content isless compared with the condition while their water-cement ratio were kept at the samelevel;⑶The shrinkage deformation behavior of RCR: On the contrary, a little increasewas found in both of shrinkage velocity and total shrinkage for the specimen containing tire rubber;⑷The temperature deformation behavior of RCR: the linear expansioncoefficient of RCR increased with the increase of rubber content while theircompressive strengths were kept at the same level when the specimens were dipped inthe water. On the contrary, the linear expansion coefficient of RCR decreased with theincrease of rubber content while the speciments were dry;⑸The anti-cracking behavior of RCR: testing the different cracking time and thestate of RCR, studythe anti-cracking behavior of RCR with different rubber contents.⑹T he ultimate tensile elongation of RCR: The ultimate tensile elongation ofRCR increased with the increase of rubber content. Meanwhile, the tensile elasticmodulus decreased with the increase of rubber content although it is not very obvious.
