Ultrasonic motor (USM) is a new type motor, which generates vibration depending on the conversing piezoelectric effect, and that transform it into motions by the contact forces between the stator and the rotor. Comparing with the traditional motor, the ultrasonic motors have remarkable features, However, USM has not been applied in practice in modern industry and office-automation systems, for it is highly affected by the nonlinear items within it. Therefore, it is valuable to study the nonlinear effects on the USM.In the past, most studies on the nonlinear features of the USM focus on theoretical analyses lacking of the experiment evidence. For these reasons, in this paper, we design and make the driving circuit for the USM and build the experiment system; and do the nonlinear experiment with it; finally, the experiment results from which we get the nonlinear phenomenon are discussed in details.In this thesis, the following work is proceeded:The feature, history and applications of the USM are introduced, and the nonlinear phenomenon and experiment procedure about the USM are discussed;The way to build a model considering the nonlinear is provided, and analysis on nonlinear phenomenon is carried out.The stator model is designed and made, then the modals are calculated on with ANSYS.A driving system with a feedback control loop for the USM was made. And an experimental measuring system is provided.Nonlinear dynamic experiments are carried out on the designed system. The data which indicates the nonlinear phenomenon is analyzed.
