The column base joint of concrete filled steel tube is one of key technologies to promot using the concrete filled steel tube in the high-rise building. studs are applicated broad as strengthen measure of the column base joint of embedded concrete filled steel tube. This article studies the punching performance of the base joint of embedded concrete filled steel tube with studs under vertical loads. The experiment has established separately two models to study the influence of studs on ultimate bearing capacity and punching shear failures through changing the number and the position of the studs , The studs quantity of test sample ZJ/S-3 is different from that of ZJ/S-4. Through the destruction formation and loaded behavior of experimental samples under vertical loads, the influence of studs and components to the column base joint be analyzed and the position of the punching to be definited. All of these will offer the basal datum and reference for design. The test result shows that the experimental value of the ultimate bearing capacity is similar to the theoretical value,the test sample ZJ/S-3 is destroied as the shearing failure and the test sample ZJ/S-4 is destroied as punching failure. when the test samples get to ultimate bearing capacity. Under the vertical loads, the number of studs influences immediately the value of supporting capacity and the arranging position of the studs influences the punching ability of base joint. When punching destruction occurs, the punching shear failures come into being on the uppermost row. The stirrup is a important factor whice affects the punching performance of joints.Using the ANSYS finite element analysis software to analyse the numerical simulation of the trial model, two trial models are simulated separately and the stress of base joint components to research the stress of the base joint is analyzed. The result of finite element analysis and the test result tally basically and the condition of joint components and the stress situation of test samples in model experiment are the same.
