Starting with the two aspects of imaging optical system and sampling modes of detector arrays, several effective methods for improving spatial resolution of space sensors are discussed in detail in this paper.Firstly, the fundamental theory of optical sparse aperture imaging system is introduced and analyzed. Particularly, the performances of the Tri-Arm and Golay6 configurations are studied emphatically, and then several representative character parameters of above two are calculated and discussed. The imaging results with different fill factors are simulated and the images are restored and reconstructed with Wiener filtering function. Finally, image qualities of the results are compared using several image quality evaluation methods. Besides, for the undersampled imaging systems, the principle, changing the array arrangement and increasing the spatial or temporal sampling frequency of detectors to avoid aliasing and construct a high resolution image, is presented in this paper. Based on the above theory, the results of sub-pixel imaging technique, slide sampling mode and horizontal decelerating mode are simulated and their image reconstruction methods are researched respectively.
