New research domains were exploited and some problem which have puzzled signal processing scholar for a long time could be solved in virtue of the vector sensor. In this thesis, matters were researched based on the various advantage of the vector sensor array.Firstly, a model of whole space unambiguous DOA (Direction-Of-Arrival) estimation using vector sensor linear array was designed in the thesis. Bartlett beamforming, Capon beamforming and conventional MUSIC method using the vector sensor array were given. It is the first time to apply the DOA estimation methods based on time-frequency analysis to the vector sensor array signal processing. The particular calculate of vector sensor array's time-frequency MUSIC and DOA estimation based on FRFT (Fractional Fourier Transform) was given. The model and all algorithms were researched via theory and simulation. The time-frequency MUSIC of vector sensor array had powerful choosing ability. The time-frequency point was chosen to filtrate signals, restrain interference, and enhance SNR (Signal Noise Ratio) effectively. The focusing and interpolation was avoided by DOA estimation based on FRFT, and LFM (Liner Frequency Modulation) signal was changed to single signal in fractional Fourier domain via one dimension transform to process signal. The complexity and calculation quantity of signal processing was played down effectively. LFM signal was estimated by the method without searching frequency and focusing transform.At the end of this thesis, the experimental data obtained from lake experimentation and sea experimentation was disposed. Two DOA estimation methods based on time-frequency analysis and the whole space directional ability of the model were verified by the result of disposal.
