| Gas turbine demonstrates its formidable vitality by the merits of light weight, big power, easy operation, smart mobility and so on. But this kind of engine needs the mass air of inhalation when working, so it makes the demand of desalting more stringent. To fulfill the more and more strict requirements of marine gas turbines, a new kind of the smallish inertial stage is introduced in this paper, and it will be combined with the multilayer gauze stage to form a combined air filter. In this paper, this new type of marine air filter will be simulated numerically with corresponding experimental study conducted, offering references for design and manufacture of high-powered marine air filter.This paper will chiefly carry on the work in the following several aspects:1. The numerical simulating of the flow fields in the inertial stages .Obtained numerical simulating results of the resistance, with geometrical boundary completely according with the actual one and nothing being simplified.2. The numerical simulating of the flow fields in the two stages of numerical simulating of the inertial stages and multilayer gauze stages, and taking into account the structure of the two stages moisture separator, making appropriate mathematical model obtained results of the resistance.3. Using a special experimental wind tunnel, large numbers of experiments were carried out to study the resistance and efficiency performance of the inertial stages.
