| More and more electrical appliances were used in various vehicles at present, so higher quality was requested for Vehicle generators. Voltage was regulated with controlling exciting current in traditional Vehicle generators. A lot of energy was comsumed with exciting current at low speed for the great operation speed variation of vehicle generators. Therefore the efficiency of generator was low. Because of no exciting winding, a permanent magnet generator has the properties of simple construction, long operation life and high efficiency. The output voltage of a permanent magnet generator was changed with variation of the load and speed.A voltage regulation method was pesented in the paper to improve the voltage output in a permanent magnet generator for the power source of vehivle appliances and battery. This voltage regulation system can control the output characteristics according to the operaing state of the permanent magnet generator and battery, and so improve the system performance. A propotype was completed with above method and the experimental results shows that performance meets the demand. |
