Short-term load forecast is important in distributing of the power system and planning and management work. Load forecasting has a direct impact on power system economic and social benefits. With the development of the electricity market and the sharp increase in electricity demand, short-term load forecast is to become an indispensable part of the sector of power system .Rational choice is to improve the accuracy of the forecast. Similar day selecting for load forecasting is considered as a effective forecast model to predict the load forecasting which bases on tradition artificial experience similarity. For improving the accuracy of the similar day, at present, domestic and international experts has been researching on it.This paper gives a preliminary study of load similar day selecting . As the power load is reJeted to climate, and weather conditions and other factors, therefore similar day selecting is a very complex task. This paper analyzed the composition of the power system load and the way to select a similar day in the short term both at home and abroad.In this paper, it introduced the fuzzy clustering and wavelet denoise and time series model; and on the base of meteorological data and statistical analysis, it focus on the data pre-processing methods, the AGO and the selection software development. Finally, it developed the load forecasting of similar day selecting system. To verify the validity of the prediction algorithm,it gives out about one hundred and ninty groups of samples to confirm the accuracy.
