In this thesis, the aerodynamic heating predictions of hypersonic aircrafts based upon tracking the streamtrace distributions are presented. On the base of Prandtl theory, the whole flow field is divided into inviscid flow field out of the boundary layer and viscous field into the boundary layer. The boundary-layer edge conditions are determined by CFD method, and the streamtrace distributions are computed according to the stream function theory; the heating predictions are calculated based on the theory and semi-empirical formulas.Firstly, all the numerical methods and engineering methods developed by others are analyzed systematically and classified. On this basis, all the classic methods are synthesized.Using the concept of surface stream function to get the connection of the surface stream function and the streamtrace based on the theory; the boundary-layer edge conditions by CFD method and solved by 3D Euler equations on structured grids; the streamtrace distributions are computed based on the surface stream function and the boundary-layer edge conditions. The results indicate that the method proposed in this paper is workable at angle of attack and without angle. It will play an important role in predicting the heating rates accurately on hypersonic vehicles. In the boundary-layer, with tracking the surface streamtrace, heating predictions are calculated based on the reference enthalpy theory and locally similar theory on the assumption that small landscape orientation flow and normal temperature wall. Calculating the heating rates of double blunt bionics, the results of this method are in good agreement with existing experimental data and classic engineering methods. It is applicable to the parametric design. Thus, a rapid, effective, and capable of complicated figures method for predicting heating rates of hypersonic aircrafts is developed. Taken into many realistic circumstances, it has certain value of the engineering application. All the method is fast to execute, easy to program, and meet the precision the requirement well.
