Modern small satellite has feasibility, universality and applicability thanks to its obviously merits such as small in volume, light in weight, low cost, short period of design, high performances and so on. So it wins internationally and highly regard in the field of space technology. With the rapid development of small satellite, many progresses in the technology of small satellite structure design have been made. To reduce the weight of structure has been an important requirement in the design. In order to satisfy the requirement, the light materials with good mechanical properties are applied in the structure of small satellite. As a special form of structure, honeycomb sandwich panels are widely used in the structure of space vehicle due to its outstanding mechanics properties and light weight.Based on the design requirement of"TXZ"micro-satellite and the given shape and configuration, two projects of construction have been designed, optimized and analyzed considering the principles, theories and methods of satellite design and characteristics of honeycomb sandwich panel in this dissertation. Comparisons with existing structure project of the micro-satellite in performance parameter are also given. Firstly, the primary design of two structures of the micro-satellite including the structure forms and initial sizes has been finished. Founded on the structure design, the entire finite element model of the micro-satellite has been built by MSC.Patran. The two kinds of structures are optimized according to the requirements of the project and constraints of the structures to get the right sizes of the structures that make the micro-satellite weighs lightest using Msc.Nastran. Then static analysis, mode analysis, sine vibration response analysis and random vibration response analysis have been done and the corresponding analysis results have been given in the dissertation. Based on above, a better project has been chosen by comparison among two projects of structure design satisfying the requirements of"TXZ"micro-satellite and the first one. The result has actual guidance on the structure design of"TXZ"micro-satellite.
