With the increasing market competition and the widely use of the information technology, the information system is becoming an inevitable trend of manufacturing industry development. As the key department of manufacturing enterprises, the capacity of workshop determines the actual production capacity of the plant. Therefore, improving the level of the production management and informationization is an effective way to improve the core competencies of the enterprise. Nowadays ,in the manufacturing enterprises, making production plan totally depends on orders because there is no linkage between the ERP system and the plant automatically control system, so the manager can't make decision in time and correctly. In addition, as primary style of manufacturing industry nowadays, the manufacturing process of discrete shop-floor facing more varieties and small quantities is complex and its planning and controlling is becoming more and more difficult. Therefore, Shop-floor needs a production planning and controlling system of its own to guide production. The thesis aims at discrete shop-floor and studies the key technology and system design of production management. The purpose is to find an advanced method of production planning and controlling, develop a system that can adapt to plant physically and that can realize information sharing and can integrate completely with other information system.Firstly, the paper simply introduces the study situation of production planning and controlling, analyses the characteristic of MRPâ…¡and TOC respectively. Based on the work of the former part , the paper puts forward an frame of operation planning and controlling system facing discrete shop-floor based on capability balance.Then the paper researches on the key technology of the frame, establishes the rating capability and practical load equation of workshop. Then the load rate is gained. Accroding to the load rate, a method of bottleneck identification based on workshop is put forward.The paper also discusses the key technologies of setting the buffer, workshop operation planning, data collection at scene etc.This subject, combined with a Automotive Breaking & Steering Enterprise's practical requirement, designed and developed a planning and controlling workshop prototype system based on B/S and C/S. The system can be divided into production basic data management, operations planning and scheduling management, Production monitoring and system management modules. The paper detailed introduces the function modules respectively. The prototype system is tentatively applied in Chongqing CAFF company NC workshop and has achieved good effect.
