Traditionally, Power system security and stability issues includs the power angle stability and voltage stability. Because several accidents of voltage collapse took place in recent decades, voltage security has become more concerned. The research of power system stability and security is also strengthened simultaneously.This article systematically reviewed and summed up the voltage at home and abroad about the stability of the development of analytical methods. Through the analysis of the static voltage stability's principle , This article also analysis the strengths and weaknesses of actual methods which are commonly used from the reality of power system.Continuation power flow is the solution curve which is tracking the trend of steady-state equation by the continuous methods. and steady-state equation changes because of changes in the load or the output power. The mathod can obtain accurate voltage stability limit and the entire PV curve quickly and accurately. So it has been widely applied to the power system voltage stability study, and is also used to track the trend for PV curve in Many softwares which study voltage stability .Based on continuation method,the paper completed the voltage stability analysis system design principle's study,and designed its flow chart. then this article carried out a voltage stability analysis to YinBei power system. After sufficient detailed data is collected by the analysis, A number of important conclusions are obtained.which can provide basis decision for the security and stability of regional power system. In the end, Appropriate measures are given.Achivement of the paper has impartant theoretical significance and practical value for guiding the planning, the construction and the management of power net.
