In recent years, many power plants are in the implementation of the condition-based maintenance of power equipment and achieve some results in both management level and science and technology, but the equipment's condition monitoring and fault diagnosis technology has yet to be further enhanced.In order to improve the power plant equipment's condition monitoring and fault diagnosis technology, this thesis studies on ball mill. It is analyzed the reliability of the ball mill to improve its level of condition-based maintenance and provided a reference for other equipment's condition-based maintenance.The thesis starting with the reliability analysis models, by comparison, analysis and judgment of the commonly used mathematical models, the Weibull distribution function model is to be chosen because of its "unified probability paper" feature, but it is uncertain to use three or two-parameter Weibull distribution model. In the processing of calculating the data, these two models are both adopted at the same time. The three-parameter model applies correlation coefficient optimization to calculate and the two-parameter model uses MATLAB software to fit. With the comparative analysis of data result, 3-parameter Weibull distribution model and two-parameter Weibull distribution model are very similar. As the three-parameter Weibull distribution model considers the location parameters and is more practical, three-parameter Weibull distribution model is always adopted in the condition-based maintenance of the ball mill's practical application.The specific application of reliability analysis technology is closely related to the shape parameter, scale and location parameter of the three-parameter Weibull distribution. With the relationship between MTBF and testing cycle that counts the equipment's state detection cycle, and basing on the failure rate function that diagnoses the type of failure. It mainly takes advantage of the three-parameter Weibull distribution's formula of mathematical expectation to calculate mean time between failures (MTBF).Finally, the paper presents fault tree analysis on the basis of the analysis of ball mill common faults, and proposes preliminary design of ball mill fault diagnosis expert system on the basis of the fault tree analysis.
