Along with the fast development of electronic devices, the substation automation technology is on the point of entering the new digital age. Communication system is the lifeblood of substation automation system. Its stability and information transmission speediness decides the whole communication system's practicability. To construct a communication network with openness and compatibility within a digital automation substation system, a best way is to adopt standard communication protocol to realize the seamless communication among different devices, and finally realize the substation digitalisation.In the research of measurement principle of Active Optic-Electric Transducer (AOET), problems of conventional transformer are discussed through transient process simulation at first. The disadvantages of electromagnetic current transformer and capacitive voltage transformer are demonstrated too.IEC(International Electrotechnical Commission)has provided a way for different manufacturers'IED (Intelligent Electronic Device) to realize the interoperability and system seamless integration, which is the base of digital substation construction.Further, there is an analysis of indices of network performance evaluation and data stream between the bay level and process level, and it's based on the generic indices of network performance evaluation. analyzes the function of the low-voltage unit.Finally, the thesis has done some research in the methods of data synchronization in fiber differential protection currently, and emphases on inserting data.
