In recent years, with the development of the society, more and more Tall Buildings and intelligent buildings have appeared in the cities. And the elevator, which is the most important vertical transporting facility in the buildings, needs to be improved to satisfy the passenger's requirements. How to control the elevators more efficiently is always the key issue in the elevator industry.In actual situation, a single elevator is insufficient for the inner building transportation. More elevators could service more efficient and shorten the waiting time and reduce energy consuming. As a consequence, the elevator group control system(EGCS) which improves the service efficiency and quality by an optimized control policy which harmonizes multi-elevator operation is introduced.Based on some domestic and overseas research on elevator control, the thesis, whose studying object is the simulation of the elevator group control system, firstly analyzes the composition and structure of the EGCS. Then the design thinking of the simulation platform of EGCS is presented. After buiding the Traffic Flow Module, Elevator Module, Data Communication Module and Hall Call Assignment Module, the simulation platform of EGCS has been established.The thesis also disscusses how to do research on elevator control algorithm by using the simulation platform. The thesis firstly introduces current main research results about the elevator control algorithm and then provides methods of Minimum Waiting Time algorithm, Minimum Energy Consumption algorithm, Up-Peak Traffic Condition algorithm and Down-Peak Traffic Condition algorithm which are based on different scheduling goals. At last, The thesis demonstrates an example about the Minimum Waiting Time algorithm on the simulaiton platform and gives the Analysis of simulation results.Debugging the algorithm on the simulation platform is proved to be feasible.
