The rotor and the stator are key parts of the single screw pump. By the improvement of requirements to the mechanical equipment, application cannot be satisfied by common stator with rubber lining. A solution is adopted to manufacture the stator with steel inner spiral surface. The capability and efficiency of the new type single screw pump will be increased high. So a new issue is given about the manufacture technique.With jumping-off point of the movement of the rotor in the stator, the relation between these two parts is analyzed. A new envelope relation is discovered which can be applied to the process of machining. On base of theory of space envelope and the trail composition, machining steel stator in envelope method is a new way . It is made the hard alloy cutter arranged in the end or side of the rotor. So the rotor is made being the boring cutter. Movements are forced to realize engagement. The cutting velocity is formed by the difference of velocities between the rotor and the stator. Adjusting the relationship among the mechanism, the inner envelope surface will be machined. By the analyses and calculations, the locus of one point on the stator is elliptic; many cutters as different points on the rotor could be used to fit the ideal surface by different locus.The rationality and the possibility of this manufacture method are demonstrated by establishing mathematics model and movement model about tool-work piece in this paper. By calculation and drawing, the new machining method is discussed. On base of description of the movement locus, outline of the spiral inner surface is drawn. Analysis on the courses of machining error and important value of the cutter are given on the relation between the velocity of the movement and the cutter. Introductions on the mechanical parts and the electrical control of the test are given in this paper. The theory achievements are verified by the test.A new method is given in this paper. Machining technique of inner surface is extended and envelope-machining method to complex surface is perfected. Theory basics for shaping stator inner surface and manufacturing the corresponding machine tools are offered by this new method.
