When power plant is operating, the uniformity of the proportion about primary air and pulverized coal in boiler is one of the important factors to determine operating function, and the primary air velocity in primary air pipeline before a mixture of wind and pulverized coal plays a decisive role in security and economy of pulverized coal combustion. Hence, for the pulverized coal combustion system of boiler in power plant, how to calculate the value of primary air velocity directly or indirectly is all-important.In this thesis, an intelligent instrument--the intelligent monitor instrument for primary air velocity, which integrates the characteristic of data acquisition system that based on MCU, is applied to monitor the primary air velocity on-line. The monitoring instrument has several functions such as primary air velocity's measure, the analog signal output, HCI and digital communication based on using MCU AT89C52 as a core, deploy peripheral equipment according to system's function and introducing mature circuits design technology and components with high capacity.Firstly, it briefly analyses the influence of primary air velocity for the combustion safety in boiler and makes the requirement analysis for the system. Secondly, it researches and summarizes the theory of primary air velocity measurement and establishes the theoretical basis as well as the design of the frame. Thirdly, selecting suitable chips and completing the hardware circuit design of intelligent monitor instrument system under the conducting of the hardware designing rules of SCM system. And it designs the correlative software function modules.Finally, the thesis makes a research of the system interference, including interference source, damage, the factors of system's easily interfered and anti-interference measures; summarize the work and target of this thesis in conclusion.
